A Personal Message from Heidi
Hi, I’m Heidi, the founder of True Bond Canine, and I’ve been passionate about dogs for as long as I can remember. My journey into dog training began in 2013 when I became the proud guardian of a Tamaskan, a rare and energetic breed. Quickly realizing the importance of training, I enrolled in every class and workshop I could find to improve my skills. The process of learning and seeing my dog’s progress inspired me to pursue dog training as a career.
I currently share my life with two Tamaskans and actively participate in a variety of dog sports, including Bikejoring, Rally Obedience, Agility, Trick Training, Nose Work, and Barn Hunt. My older dog, Navarre, holds multiple titles, including Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert Trick Dog titles, Rally Novice (RN), Nose Work (NW2), and Barn Hunt (RATCH).
My approach is rooted in positive reinforcement, ensuring that learning is not only effective but also enjoyable for your dog. i help dogs and their owners build a strong, balanced relationship through trust and clear communication, fostering harmony and understanding.
Before becoming a dog trainer, I spent 22 years in the corporate world managing global events and field marketing programs for companies like Cisco and Dell Technologies. While I loved the fast-paced nature of my previous career, I felt the need to transition into something that combined my organizational skills with my passion for dogs. That’s when I decided to follow my heart and become a professional dog trainer.

I’m committed to using ethical, science-based methods in my training and am constantly learning to stay ahead in the field. My approach is all about creating a positive, enjoyable experience for dogs and their owners. I love problem-solving and working alongside pet guardians to make their relationships with their dogs as strong and rewarding as possible.
When I’m not training, you can find me hiking, backpacking, camping, cross-country skiing, or paddleboarding with my dogs, enjoying the great outdoors.
I look forward to helping you and your dog develop a lasting, fulfilling bond!
